Earth Day:  Each year, April 22nd marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement.  On that day in 1970, U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson organized a “national teach-in on the environment” with Congressman Pete McCloskey.  20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment in massive coast-to-coast rallies.  The first Earth Day led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts.  Today, more than 1 billion people across the globe observe Earth Day each year to celebrate the positive steps that have been taken to protect our planet and to focus on additional measures that can be taken to ensure its well-being.

Join us for this wonderful event to celebrate Earth Day and support our efforts by raising money to protect and preserve water and other important natural resources within the region!
