Winter Hike

Sunday, February 10 from 2 to 4 pm • Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve in Gladstone

Beat cabin fever with a brisk hike on the trails of Fairview Farm! Winter is a wonderful time of year to bundle up and get outside.  We’ll look for winter wildlife, enjoy the winter scenery and each other’s company.

Woodcock Watch

Tuesday, March 26 from 6:30 to 8 pm • Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve inGladstone

Join us for a Woodcock Watch with a presentation from Alan Rennie on these quirky birds followed by a guided hike to two of Fairview Farm’s meadows, which serve as popular Woodcock singing fields.

Rain Barrel and Rain Garden Workshop

Thursday, March 14 from 7 to 9 pm • Echo Hill Lodge in Flemington

Learn the importance of saving rain water, and how to do it effectively. Participants have the option to build a rain barrel to bring home!

Spring Family Campfire & Night Hike

Friday, March 22 from 5 to 7 pm • Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve in Gladstone

Join us for a fun scavenger hunt around Fairview Farm’s gardens, buildings and trails, with options suitable for children ages 5-12. Afterwards, we’ll gather around a warm campfire for s’mores and hot chocolate.

Enjoy a quiet morning reflecting on the peace and beauty of the watershed! We will practice walking and sitting meditations alongside the beautiful Rockaway Creek at the Whittemore Preserve in Oldwick.

Full Moon Campfire and Night Hike

Friday, June 21 from 5 to 7 pm • Fairview Farm Wildlife Preserve in Gladstone

Gather around a warm campfire to roast marshmallows and learn about some incredible night wildlife!  We’ll have special guests from the Raptor Trust to teach us about New Jersey’s hawks and owls and learn about stars and constellations under the glow of the Full Strawberry Moon!

Get your feet wet (literally!) while we teach you about the wonders of water! Our educators will show you some incredible critters that live in our streams, help you try out fly fishing, make beautiful art with watercolors, and help you get to know your local river!
