Raritan Headwaters is excited to host Friluftsliving Family for 15 weeks of winter fun!
Celebrate the ancient tradition of wassailing trees and toast to good health–for nature and its revelers! The origins of this practice date to Anglo-Saxon times and are most commonly associated with blessing the orchards to protect them through the winter months. Since the word “wassail” likely derives from Old Norse “ves heill” (“good health”) and since we could all use a little help to get through the winter months, we’re expanding the idea and making it a friluftsliv-inspired adventure. Join us to make noisemakers, decorate trees with 2023 blessings, revel, and toast the winter months ahead.
As with all friluftsliv events, dress appropriately for the weather of the day and stay tuned for email updates should there be severe weather that requires rescheduling.
