Calling all nature enthusiasts, families, and conservation-minded citizens! Raritan Headwaters (RHA) is hosting an Open House at Fairview Farm on Saturday, September 21st, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. This is your chance to learn about the vital role RHA plays in protecting our local environment and explore the beauty of our 170-acre wildlife preserve.
What to Expect
· Guided Trail Walks: Embark on hikes led by RHA experts to discover forest ecology, wetland habitats, and diverse wildlife.
· Bioblitz Around the Pond: Join a family-friendly adventure to identify as many species as possible around the pond using nature guides and the iNaturalist app.
· Meet the Experts: Chat with RHA staff to learn about their work in various fields, including science, stewardship, stream restoration, policy, and education.
· Engaging Activities: Participate in a stream monitoring training session, learn about citizen science opportunities, make a bird feeder, and purchase a native plant for your garden.
· Informative Displays: Explore various program booths showcasing RHA’s work in education, water quality, land preservation, advocacy, and more.
· Refreshments and Networking: Enjoy light refreshments while mingling with RHA staff and fellow attendees.
