After a modified season in 2020, it was refreshing and rewarding to bring back our complete corps of volunteers to help with the huge task of collecting biological and habitat data at over 72 sites within the watershed over a three week period. Nearly all of our samples have been returned and are currently being sorted and prepared for drop-off for identification by a certified taxonomist. This year our volunteers saw a variety of wildlife while sampling including margined madtoms, longnose dace, snapping turtles, racoons, salamanders, and much more. That is all in addition to the hundreds upon hundreds of stream macroinvertebrates that they encounter and collect. Now that our season is winding down, we begin waiting for the return of our data so that we can prepare and analyze the 2021 stream scores to create our 2021 stream report card.
